Step 3: I am applying for...

Please have the following ready

  • Personal data and a scan of your passport

  • A scan of your Bachelor's certificate from a Bachelor's degree programme in Chemistry lasting at least six semesters with a total of 180 CPs or a comparable degree programme

  • Your school report as a scan of the original and as an officially certified translation (German or English)

  • Transcript of records as a scan of the original and as an officially certified translation (German or English) including the proof of 45 CPs from laboratory practicals on experiments carried out independently and 15 CPs from advanced practicals (excluding the Bachelor's thesis)

  • Scan of proof of English language proficiency at level B2

  • An e-mail address that is called up regularly

  • All admission requirements in the examination regulations (available in German)

Step by step to a study place - simply apply!

  • Create an application account in the RUB application portal

  • Apply by July, 15th (upload documents)

  • Apply for enrolment (submit requested documents). Forwarding via the application portal directly to the enrolment application. Processing takes approx. 4-6 weeks.

  • Receive confirmation of enrolment and student ID card

  • Start your studies on October, 1st (wintersemester) or April, 1st (Summer semester)

With your access data, which you received after registering in the new RUB application portal, you can check the status of your application at any time. Do this regularly while your documents are being checked so that you do not miss any notices, follow-up questions and possible deadlines.

Please have the following ready

  • Personal data and a scan of your identity document (e.g. passport or ID card)

  • A scan of your Bachelor's certificate from a Bachelor's degree programme in Biochemistry lasting at least six semesters with a total of 180 CPs or a comparable degree programme

  • Your school report as a scan of the original and as an officially certified translation (German or English)

  • Transcript of records as a scan of the original and as an officially certified translation (German or English) including the proof of 60 CPs from laboratory internships (excluding the Bachelor's thesis)

  • The scan of the proof of English language skills at level B2

  • If applicable, proof of passing the university entrance examination (e.g. from Turkey, Lebanon, Iran, etc.) as a scan of the original and as an officially certified translation (German or English)

  • APS certificate (only for applicants with certificates from China, Vietnam or India)

  • An e-mail address that is called up regularly

  • All admission requirements in the examination regulations(in german)

Step by step to a study place - simply apply

  • Create an application account in the RUB application portal

  • Apply by July, 15th (upload documents)

  • The application will be reviewed and the selection process will be carried out. This can take around 4-6 weeks.

  • Counselling interview on the choice of subjects and the structure of the Master's phase

  • Authorisation received

  • Apply for enrolment (upload requested documents)

  • Application for enrolment is being reviewed

  • Receive confirmation of enrolment and student ID card

  • Start your studies on October, 1st

Please have the following ready

  • Personal data and a scan of your identity document (e.g. passport or ID card)

  • A certified copy of your Bachelor's certificate from a Bachelor's degree programme in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, mathematics, related engineering sciences or a comparable specialised degree programme worth 180 CPs

  • Proof of 10 CP in mathematics

  • Certified copy of your Transcript of Records

  • Proof of 8 CPs in theoretical chemistry and/or fundamentals of spectroscopic techniques and/or basic quantum mechanics courses in physics and/or equivalent achievements

  • Proof of English language skills at level B2

  • An e-mail address that you can check regularly
