Gender equality - opportunities Chemistry
As a faculty with diverse, collaboratively funded projects in collaborative research, a strong international environment and innovative teaching, we recognise our responsibility to create an inclusive and equitable working environment for all members of our faculty.
We firmly believe that equal opportunities and diversity are critical to the success and excellence of our academic community, research and teaching.
Our goal is...
to be a faculty that respects and values all individuals, regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, background or other differences. We continuously work to implement measures to promote equality to ensure that all members of our faculty have equal opportunities to engage and develop in our community.
Ruhr-University Bochum supports these goals with a variety of initiatives and programmes aimed at promoting equality and diversity. Some of these initiatives include:
- The establishment of a central gender equality office, which is committed to developing and implementing gender equality measures and programmes.
- Establishing mentoring programmes for female students and early career researchers to help them succeed in their careers in research and teaching.
- The implementation of training programmes for managers and teaching staff to promote inclusion, diversity and equality in the faculty.
- Supporting networks for faculty members who are committed to promoting equality and diversity in academia.
We are convinced that these initiatives and programmes will help to create a more inclusive and equitable working environment for all members of the Ruhr-University and our faculty.
