Prof. Dr. Simon Ebbinghaus

The research group led by Prof Ebbinghaus focuses on biomolecular reactions, in particular the misfolding and aggregation of proteins as a cause of neurodegenerative diseases. To this end, the research group develops and utilises unique techniques to observe these reactions directly in living cells and to resolve them spatially and temporally. Understanding these processes provides starting points for novel therapies.
